Here is an early Conn 10B "New Era" Bb Trumpet in great condition! This 1932 (S/N 288xxx) 10B features #1½ bore (0.458") and with the larger bore size, this peashooter actually plays like a regular trumpet! The sound is big and very present, but yet with warmth and resonance like you might get even from a Bach! The trumpet has satin silver body with bright silver slide and trim. There are some silver loss from normal wear and tear throughout almost 90 years of its life, but there are plenty left! The valves are in great shape and give loud pops when you pull the slides! No signs or red rot that we can tell, and other than a couple dings here and there, the horn is in great shape for its age. Out of all the peashooters we have here, this is definitely one of our instant favourites! Comes with original case.
Here's what Conn said about the 10B in 1933:
"This is the model which set a new style in trumpets back in 1928. It became so popular that practically every manufacturer was forced to add a long model trumpet to his line. But only Conn makes the genuine New Era. No copy has ever quite equalled the original model - copies never do. Today's New Eras are even more brilliant in performance and striking in appearance. Equipped with the new CRYSTEEL valves, their valve action is even swifter and lighter. Their new engraving and braces have made them even more modern and sporty. Their quick responsiveness and smooth, even scale give dazzling speed in all registers. Their crystal pure trumpet tone "cuts through" everything. They make the heavy demands of modern engagements pleasurable and easy. Small bore, 58B; medium bore, 10B. Key of Bb and A, springs in bottom of valves."
