Here is an early Antonie Courtois & Mille Bb/A cornet. The serial number (S/N 14xxx) shows that the cornet is built in the early 1880s. We are not certain if the cornet has been restored in the past, but the one-piece leadpipe with no tuning bits seems like a later add-on since it is rarely seen before 1900. Silver is in great shape with very little silver loss, and the valves still have some compression! The tuning slide has a quick switch rotor for Bb and A keys. This Courtois produces a sweet dark sound and still plays well all throughout the range! The cornet comes with a super rare original Courtois Mille mouthpiece. Come and check out this beauty!
